What is the Baptist Ministry Training Center?

BMTC exists to train Laborers to be profitable for the ministry.

God has made it unmistakably clear: there is a pressing need to train laborers for local church ministry.

Many have started their training yet never completed it. Others have been called into ministry but, for various reasons, are not currently serving. Still, God is leading others to begin ministry anew.
Our vision is to come alongside the servants of the Lord, equipping them with expedited and purposeful training so they may become truly profitable for the work of the ministry.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does “profitable for the ministry” mean?

Our goal in training laborers to be profitable for the ministry is to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and spiritual maturity needed to take an active, effective role in their local church—making a meaningful difference in the lives of others and in the work of the ministry.

Is the program in-person, online, or hybrid?

This is a fully in-person program, designed to provide students with practical, hands-on experience in various aspects of local church ministry. Learning in a live environment allows for real-time mentorship, service opportunities, and spiritual growth within a church context.

What do participants receive upon completion?

Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive a Certificate in Church Ministry, recognizing their training, commitment, and readiness to serve in a local church setting.

Who is eligible to apply?

The training center welcomes adult learners, beginning at the high school graduate level and up. Whether you’re just starting your ministry journey or seeking to deepen your service, you are encouraged to apply.

What is expected of me in terms of time commitment?

Classes meet three hours a day, three days a week—specifically, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. This schedule is designed to accommodate students who may also be working, raising families, or involved in ministry throughout the week, while still allowing time for meaningful classroom learning and hands-on ministry experience.

When can I start the program?

The next full two-year program begins in January 2026. However, students are welcome to join at any 9 week module, making it accessible and flexible for new enrollees.

Is student housing available?

No, on-campus housing is not available at this time. Students will need to secure their own accommodations in the local area.

What are the student costs?

There are a few key costs to consider:

  • Application Fee: $100 – Early Registration Discount: Apply by October 1, 2025, and the fee is reduced to $50.
  • Tuition: $300 per month, beginning January 2026 – This cost includes all books and materials.
  • Technology Needs: – While not provided by the training center, students are encouraged to have a personal device (such as a laptop or tablet) for coursework. Please factor this into your financial planning.
Do I need to join NorthSide Baptist Church to attend?

No, membership at NorthSide Baptist Church is not required. Students must, however, be faithful members of a likeminded, Bible-believing church that supports their spiritual development and aligns with the center’s core values.

Is this program designed for men only?

No. While Scripture assigns certain leadership roles specifically to men within the church, this training center exists to equip all Christians—men and women alike—for the work of the ministry. God has a purpose for every believer, and we are committed to preparing each student to fulfill that calling.
